I See

Behind your fake pride,

behind your sinful mind,

lies the truthful lies

that flourish fruits

from poison vines.

The apple fell far from the tree.

Shackled head to feet,

yet still told you’re free.

Nothing like you were supposed to be.

Given opportunities,

but you decided foolishly.

A chill runs down your spine

at the sight you see.

Scared of what you’re capable.

Failing for you, is inescapable.

And what’s in front of you is breakable.

When you reflect

looking at yourself in the reflection

full of regret,

it ain’t like you thought it was.

With the pressure to survive.

With the pressure to be great.

To say that you tried

and made it through the day.

If you hate the enemy

then you hate yourself.

The man in the mirror is speaking

listen to no one else.

Keep fighting

like you have no regard for health.

The man in the mirror sees a lot.

I see you move

like you have no blood in your veins.

Like there’s no beat in your heart.

I see you’ve been treated like you’re unneeded.

Your soul’s been tortured.

Your mind’s been cornered.

Stabbed with lies,

but I see

you’re still alive and breathing.

The scars on your skin

are there so you won’t quit.

The scars on your heart

have a story to tell with it.

A tale that you’ve failed,

but still prevailed.

I’ve seen you rise and fall.

I’ve seen your rights and wrongs.

The world highlights your flaws.

I see who you are dusk to dawn.

But you don’t see yourself.

I’m there to remind you

to take a good look at yourself.

I’m that buzzing in your ear,

the guilt that fills your conscious,

the threat behind the fear,

the pit inside your stomach.

Not seeing who you like

but I’m here until you die.

I see that you’re scared,

I help you see what isn’t there.

I’m the foe that you battle

when you battle yourself.

I’m the grip in your palms

as you try to handle yourself.

I’m the truth in your belief,

I’m the trust in your faith.

When all hope is lost,

I’m the voice that prays.

I see the mind of a winner.

I see the eyes of a sinner.

I see a good impression.

I see the bad intentions.

Seeing the success,

take it how it comes.

I’m there for the ride,

I add air to your lungs.

I show you the consequence

when you think to give up.

I’m your beginning and end.

Listen to my words I’m giving,

and show me no neglect.

The man in the mirror

is a reflection of the inner.

A spirit clearer,

I see our time is nearer.

You’re the one that breathes,

I’m the one that sees.

You came.

I saw.

We conquered.

Able to achieve any dream.

I see to make sure you wake up

and before the day’s up,

let’s show the world what we’re made of.

I could be blind

and this is still all I see.
